COMARRA’S Intelligent Ethernet Cross Connect (IECC) is a Layer 1
digital patch panel that enables users to remotely program the port to
port connections from any port to any port. The IECC comes in 24, 48
port versions.
LAN configuration is expedited by allowing the user to change the
port to port mapping on the IECC in a second, from a remote location.
This allows a LAN to be repeatedly configured and reconfigured,
without the need for any re-wiring or indeed any human contact with
the equipment at all. Any changes are digitally mapped and recorded,
removing the inaccuracies resulting from manual recording.
This product replaces the ubiquitous "patch panel", where users
have to manually patch and re-patch cables when changing the port to
port mapping. The time consuming and expensive process of patching and
re-patching cables in different network configurations is now avoided,
saving the user significant time and expense.
COMARRA’S IECC is supplied with easy to use CLI commands that
provides the user with the complete control to prepare multiple cross
connect configurations.
The IECC can be accessed through a PC Serial COM Port using
HyperTerminal text commands. The IECC also has a TCP/IP Access feature
using Telnet and the web based GUI.
Individual units may be linked together and the product offers
complete flexibility to create any number of LANS. Any of the 24 or 48
ports may be used as uplinks. Users may have multiple LANS that share
a common uplinks, or have multiple LANS, each of which have their
separate uplink. There are no restrictions.
